The ELEDIA@UniTN Research group (at the University of Trento) addresses research activities in the framework of Advanced Engineering and Science with main focus on the analysis and optimization-based synthesis and design of advanced systems, architectures, methodologies, techniques and devices for communications, sensing, localization, tracking, and power transfer as applied to information transmission, energy, smart cities and environment, civil engineering and protection, situation emergency management, precision agriculture, biomedicine, and wireless internet-of-things.
In such a framework, ELEDIA@UniTN has long background experience in the development and experimental validation of technologies and methodologies respectively in the field of wireless localization of individuals or groups of individuals in complex environments through wireless signal processing and distributed sensor networks and the definition of a user-centered virtual guide, with characteristics of mobility, multimedia, multimodality, and social interaction. These activities can find natural use in projects whose objective is related to smart technologies for tourists and facilities managers as well as to the use and also the conservation (declined both in terms of safety and security) of tangible and / or intangible cultural assets.
